PM's scheme of "Housing for all by 2022" will uplift Jhuggi dwellers: Manoj Tiwari

PM's scheme of "Housing for all by 2022" will uplift Jhuggi dwellers: Manoj Tiwari

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari expressing his commitment to uplift the jhuggi dwellers said it is time Delhi starts to work for jhuggi dwellers' welfare and it is possible only by implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheme of home for all by 2022 in Delhi immediately. He rued the fact that no government has brought a holistic policy for their cohesive betterment. He reiterated that jhuggi dwellers have a crucial role in Delhi's development. Mr Tiwari said the jhuggi dwellers contribute hard in every sphere of city's socio- economic development, they help build roads, bridges, offices and homes complexes and run local transport but are denied their rightful share in the development. Mr Tiwari said, 'time and again, fire mishaps wreck the lives of these jhuggi dwellers in the national capital and governments be it the Congress or the Aam Aadmi Party just offers partly compensation to absolve them of legal and moral responsibilities to better their lives.' Earlier, he had breakfast with residents of Surajpur Jhuggi Basti in Samaypur Badli and extended solace to fire mishap victims of Balmiki Camp Begumpur, Malviya Nagar. He also met representatives of almost all families residing in Surajpur Basti. Later in the day, Mr Manoj Tiwari met the victims of last night's fire at a rag pickers Jhuggi Cluster at a Dargah Complex in Village Begumpur at Malviya Nagar. This fire left over 50 jhuggi dwellers homeless who also lost the little rag picking money collection they had. The fire has also badly damaged over six Jhuggi Homes of adjoining Balmiki Basti Camp. The local BJP workers led by Satish Upadhyay, Shailendra Singh Monty, Nandini Sharma and S C Mahto provided food to fire victims from community kitchen and clothes apart from making arrangements to give school books for local children who lost them in fire.
