New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Tuesday issued notices to the Delhi Chief Secretary, NDMC Commissioner, and Police Commissioner seeking an action taken report within six weeks following the death of a toddler mauled in an attack by a pack of stray dogs in the Tughlak Lane area.
Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports that a two-year-old girl was allegedly mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in the Tughlak Lane area of New Delhi on February 24, the commission said, “Several complaints have been made to the authorities about the increasing number of stray dogs and incidents of attack on children but no action was taken.”
The residents of the area have reportedly said that another child of the family had fallen victim to a similar attack a few months ago, it said.
