IAF felicitates its sportspersons for bringing laurels to nation

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Indian Air Force on Tuesday felicitated a total of 19 sportspersons, including cricketer Pulkit Narang and athletes Mohd Nurhasan and Himanshu, for their outstanding performances at National and International sporting events.
Honouring the achievements of these sportspersons at an event here, IAF Chief VR Chaudhari said, “Through your hard work and zeal you have brought laurels not only to the Air Force but to the country.”
He also congratulated and lauded the air warriors for their stellar achievements. The Air Chief further urged them to continue to work hard and bring laurels to the Indian Air Force.
Talking to reporters after the ceremony, Air Marshal, RK Anand VSM, AOA, said, “With this felicitation ceremony we aim to encourage other Indian Air Force personnel to achieve more such honours.
He said, “Indian Air Force is hopeful that the good strength of its sportspersons will perform and achieve laurels at the Olympic Games this year.”
Sergeant Pulkit Narang received an honour for representing India at the International Forum in 2022 and 2023 and Sergeant Mohd Nurhasan and LAC Himanshu were felicitated for clinching gold in the National Open Athletics Championship 2023.
Sgt T Das, Sgt Marush PS, Sgt Bhandari Krishna, Sgt Kushal Kumar and Sgt HK Sharma were among other 19 sportspersons who had won medals at national and international events in Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Wushu, Ultra Marathon, Cycling, Handball and other sports disciplines.
