Actor Piyush Raina imparts acting wisdom to MERI students

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Students at the Management Education and Research Institute (MERI), affiliated with IP University, were treated to a special learning experience as renowned film actor Piyush Raina shared his insights on acting.
Raina, known for his roles in acclaimed films like ‘Ghoomar’ and ‘Dunki’, visited MERI for the shooting of a documentary film, with some scenes filmed right on campus.
The occasion was more than just a film shoot; it turned into an interactive workshop organized by Raina and his team. Students, particularly those from the Journalism and Mass Communication departments, actively participated in discussions about acting, films, advertising, and documentary making.
During the workshop, Raina emphasised the vast opportunities available in journalism and mass communication. He illustrated this by highlighting the collaborative effort required in the film industry, with more than a thousand individuals involved in managing various aspects of a big-budget film. Raina encouraged students to break away from pre-conceived notions and recognise that filmmaking is not solely about acting.
MERI’s Vice President, Prof. Lalit Aggarwal, took the opportunity to honor Raina, an alumnus of IP University, for his contributions. Prof. Aggarwal expressed gratitude to Raina for his guidance and motivation towards the students. He addressed the students, emphasising that such events are vital for exploring skills and career opportunities. Prof. Aggarwal encouraged students to envision the characters of their dreams beyond textbooks, highlighting the importance of practical knowledge in their chosen fields.
The workshop led by Piyush Raina not only provided valuable insights into acting and filmmaking but also inspired students to think beyond traditional career paths, opening their eyes to the diverse opportunities in the entertainment industry.
