Modi conveys to Putin and Zelenskyy India favours dialogue for an early end to their conflict

New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to the presidents of Russia and Ukraine and conveyed India's consistent stand favouring dialogue and diplomacy for bringing an early end to the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin reviewed progress on various global issues including the Russia-Ukraine conflict during a telephone conversation.
PM Modi also reiterated India’s consistent stand in favour of dialogueand diplomacy as the way forward, as per a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official.
Modi also conversed over the telephone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and conveyed India’s consistent support for all efforts for peace and bringing an early end to the ongoing conflict."
"Conveyed India’s consistent support for all efforts for peace and bringing an early end to the ongoing conflict," PM Modi posted.
He iterated that India would continue to provide humanitarian assistance.
"India will continue to provide humanitarian assistance guided by our people-centric approach," he said.
Russia and Ukraine are engaged in an intense military conflict since February 24,2022 that has led to tloss of thousands of lives.
While talking to Putin, PM Modi congratulated him on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation for the fifth term.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral cooperation.
"We agreed to work together to further deepen and expand the India-Russia Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership in the years ahead. @KremlinRussia" the PM said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, 71, won the recent Presidential elections by securing 87.97 percent of the votes.
Regarding his talks with the Ukrainian leader, PM Modi said "Had a good conversation with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on strengthening the India-Ukraine partnership"UNI JA SSP
