Need for developing joint culture for Armed Forces: CDS

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan on Monday stressed on the need for developing a joint culture for the Armed Forces, which while respecting the uniqueness of each service, distils the best of each service to give a de-novo approach to traditional concepts.
Addressing the day-long Tri-service Conference, ‘Parivartan Chintan’ here, the CDS highlighted about the need to integrate the capabilities of each service by creating structures that increase our efficiency and enhance our war fighting ability and interoperability, a Defence Ministry statement said.
The Parivartan Chintan, was curated as a brainstorming and idea incubation discussion to generate new and fresh ideas, initiatives and reforms to further propel Jointness and Integration in the Armed Forces.
Jointness and integration are the cornerstones of the transformation to Joint Structures which the Indian Armed forces are progressing towards with the intention of being “Future Ready”.
The Conference was attended by Heads of the Andaman and Nicobar Command and Strategic Forces Command, Commandants of National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, College of Defence Management and Military Institute of Technology as well as Heads of the Armed Forces Special Operations Division, Defence Space Agency, Defence Cyber Agency and the Defence Communication Agency.

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) A Delhi court on Monday allowed the personal exemption application of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in a case related to the Pul Bangash area killings during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.CBI Special Judge Rakesh Syal allowed the personal exemption and hearing request on behalf of the counsel for the accused former Union Minister.After moving the application for exempting Tytler from personal appearance backed by copies of his medical record, Tytler's counsel Varun Kumar said, "He is admitted in Park Hospital for the last five days due to serious infection of lungs. So he is not in a position to appear before this Hon'ble Court."The counsel for the accused also sought adjournment on the ground that the main defence counsel Manu Sharma was unable to appear during the day following some personal problems.The judge put up the matter for arguments in rebuttal on behalf of the accused on May 20.
