New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) Leaders of the BJP including Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held the second round of meeting in the national capital to discuss the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dinesh Sharma, Uttar Pradesh election in charge Dharmendra Pradhan and UP chief Swatantra Dev Singh were among those present at the meeting.
BJP president JP Nadda, who tested positive for Covid on Monday, joined the meeting virtually.
The Central Election Committee of the party is likely to meet in Delhi later this week to finalise the candidates.
The notification for the first phase of polls will be issued on January 14, while January 21 is last date for filing nominations.
The BJP is in power in Uttar Pradesh with 303 MLAs in the 403 seats assembly, and is set for a battle against Samajwadi Party, Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party in the seven phase polls.
