Siddaramaiah govt creating haven for criminals: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Siddaramaiah govt creating haven for criminals: Rajeev Chandrasekhar

New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI) Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Saturday said the appeasement atmosphere created by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddararamaiah is creating an atmosphere of haven for criminals and anti-nationals in Bengaluru.
"The atmosphere of appeasement has been created by Siddararamaiah which unfortunately and tragically creates an atmosphere for criminals and anti-nationals who feel nothing will happen to them if they do what they do," he told reporters here.
The minister was referring to the Rameshwaram Cafe bomb blast which happened in Bengaluru on Friday.
"When this bomb blast went off yesterday, the Deputy CM (DK Shivakumar) said it was a cylinder blast. Once he was asked about confirmation then he said it was a business rivalry. This has been the conduct of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar government," he told media here.
Every time there is a criminal act, the Congress government either tries to deny it or try to cover it or brush it under the carpet, Chandrasekhar alleged.
This was the very conduct of the Karnataka government also in pro-Pakistan sloganeering of the supporters of Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain on assembly premises after his victory in the Rajya Sabha election, he said.
Raising the 'Pakistan Zindabad' slogan on assembly premises is a cognisable offence under CrPC, Chandrasekhar said.
The going off IED bomb is very dangerous for a city like Bengaluru where there are so many people and where so much of the digital economy is based, Chandrasekhar said. "If IED starts going off in a place like Whitefield, and the government is living in denial or is trying to cover it up that is something that we cannot accept," he said.
And it is not only BJP as a political party, but as citizens of the city everyone has an obligation and responsibility to make the government accountable for the bomb blast and make sure an investigation is done transparently and the criminal is brought to justice, Chandrasekhar said.
"We are not trying to make politics out of it. We are trying to make sure that whoever did this criminal act must be found and apprehended and brought to justice," he said.
