A new book 'Women and Sabrimala' launched in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 10 (UNI) A new book “Women and Sabrimala” was launched here in an effort to presents a never-before discussed perspective on the science behind the restrictions imposed on women in the Sabarimala temple.
Written by Sinu Joseph, Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament from New Delhi constituency Meenakshi Lekhi along with Centre for South Indian Studies (CSIS) President Bipindra NC and renowned spiritual writer A Arvind Subramanyam launched the book in the national capital on Thursday.
Talking about sloganeering against “Manu’s ideology” in protests called at various parts of the country, Ms Lekhi said, “Manu” had recognised the women’s right.
"Those who chant "Manuvaad se azaadi’ do not know about Manu that he always raised his voices for the rights of women in the society."
She also said that we must respect whatever be the Supreme Court’s verdict.
It is pertinent to mention here that a nine-judge Constitution bench of the apex court will hear the matter from January 13, the issue of allowing women and girls of all ages to enter Kerala's Sabarimala temple.
Ms Joseph said that the book “Women and Sabrimala” is an answer to the question- why aren't women of menstrual age allowed to enter Sabrimala?
"Women and Sabrimala’ is a rare book written from women’s perspective, explaining the nature of the temple through India's traditional knowledge system, such as Ayurveda, Chakras,Tantra and Agama Shashtra,” she added.
In the book, the author shared the women’s personal experiences to simplify the understanding of the deep sciences, providing a glimpse into how temples the human physiology and, in particular, women's menstrual cycles.
This book will change the way Hindu Temples, especially, Sabarimala, are perceived and experienced, Ms Joseph added.
