Day temperatures rise above 40 degrees Celsius in 29 locations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Apr 16 (UNI) Several parts of Odisha are reeling under grueling heatwave conditions, with daytime temperatures rising to above 40 degrees Celsius in as many as 29 locations across the state on Tuesday.
Baripada City has become the hottest place during the season in the state, with the mercury hovering at 43.6 degrees Celsius.
IMD sources said about 18 cities recorded daytime temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, bringing normal life to a grinding halt during the peak period.
