Suvendu urges ECI to take action against DGP and SP for attack on NIA officials

Kolkata, Apr 6 (UNI) Sharply reacting to the attack on the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials in Purba Medinipur, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday alleged that the law and order in West Bengal has crumbled completely and urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to initiate proper action against the OC of Bhupatinagar Police Station, SDPO Contai, SP of Purba Medinipur and the DG of WB Police.
The officials of the anti-terror agency were attacked on Saturday morning by a mob at Bhupatinagar in election-bound West Bengal's East Midnapore district when they were returning with two arrested TMC activists in a 2022 blast case in which three people were killed, official sources said.
One of the officials sustained wounds and the NIA vehicle was vandalised around 6.20 AM by a mob of about 50/60 women.
