Tripura Govt boosting animal resource as sustainable means of employment and economic development : Minister

Ambassa (Tripura), Dec 22(UNI) The Tripura government is continuously working on its plan to economically empower the youth and the unemployed with the help of animal resources, a minister said here on Monday.
Shantana Chakma, minister for animal resource development, was speaking at the inauguration of a sub-centre of Animal Resource Department at the Noagaon in the bordering sub divison of Kamalpur in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai.
Cabinet minister Manoj Kanti Deb, Dhalai Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Ruby Gope, Durgachowmuhani Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Sampa Das and Pradhan Pabitra Das were also present at the event.
The building has been constructed at an expense of more than Rs 5 lakh.
Shantana Chakma said the new centre will greatly help in facilitating assistance to animal rearers. .
"The state government is trying to boost dairy and cattle rearing as a sustainable means of employment generation as well as for attaining sustainable economic development. And, this centre will be a great assistance to the local people," she added.
MLA and Minister Manoj Kanti Deb spoke on the development projects and schemes of the state government.
Local people participated in the programme in great numbers.
