Mizoram Assembly's resolute stand on India-Myanmar border issue

Aizawl, Feb 28 (UNI) In a resounding show of solidarity, the Mizoram Assembly vehemently opposed the recent decision by the Centre to fence the India-Myanmar border and abolish the Free Movement Regime (FMR) with its eastern neighbor.
This crucial resolution passed by the State Assembly on Wednesday not only highlights Mizoram's unwavering stance but also urges the Center to reconsider its actions.
The resolution, introduced by State Home Minister K. Sapdanga, underscores the deep-rooted historical and cultural connections of the Zo ethnic people, who have been tragically divided by arbitrary colonial borders. Sapdanga poignantly articulated that the Zo community's aspirations for reunification under a singular administrative entity must be respected and addressed by the Union government.
