Jolt to Ruling BJD in Odisha, Six times LS member Bhartruhari Mahtab resigns

Bhubaneswar, Mar 22 (UNI) In a major jolt to the ruling Biju Janata dal (BJD) in Odisha, six-time Lok Sabha member from Cuttack Bhartruhari Mahtab on Friday tendered his resignation from the primary membership of the party.
Mahtab sent in his resignation letter to party President Naveen Patnaik stating that “ with heavy heart, I am resigning from the primary membership of the party in which I have been closely associated since its inception.
Addressing newsmen at Cuttack after tendering his resignation, the noted Parliamentarian who has been conferred with the ‘Sansad Ratna’ award for four consecutive years since 2017 for his praise-worthy performance in Parliament debates, said there is a limit to one ‘s patience which he felt had crossed the limit and it was not possible on his part to be associated with the party anymore.
