Meghalaya govt to take up ILP issue with Amit Shah

Shillong, Jan 19 (UNI) The National People’s Party-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government on Tuesday said that it has sought an appointment with Union Home Minister, Amit Shah during his visit here and take up the issue of implementing the Inner Line Permit to curb the illegal immigrant problem in Meghalaya.
Shah, who is ex-officio chairperson of the North Eastern Council (NEC), the regional planning body of the eight North Eastern States, would be visiting the State to chair the North Eastern Council’s 69th plenary on January 23.
The NEC planetary is an important meeting in which all the Governors and Chief Ministers from the region, senior central and state government officials come together to brainstorm on developmental issues of the region.
