NPP to stand up for indigenous communities of NEstates, says Meghalaya CM

Shillong, Apr 7 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) Chief, Conrad Sangma, said on Sunday that his party would always be the first to stand up for indigenous communities of the northeastern states.
“NPP may be a partner of the NDA coalition, but when it comes to the issue of the people of the Northeast and the indigenous communities, the NPP will always be the first to stand up for the rights of the people,” Sangma said as he wrapped up his three-day election campaign tour to Arunachal Pradesh.
The NPP, which won five seats in the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh assembly elections, has fielded 22 candidates for the April 19 elections to the 60-member Assembly. However, the NPP is supporting the BJP candidates for the two Lok Sabha seats in Arunachal Pradesh.
