Constitution and democratic structure of country under serious threats : D Raja

Patna, Mar 22 (UNI) National General Secretary of CPI D Raja on Friday said the constitution and democratic structure of the country are facing serious threats from the Narendra Modi government as the present regime is taking one draconian step after the other to suppress the voice of the people.
Raja told media persons here that the Narendra Modi government was hell-bent on demolishing the constitution and all democratic structures of the country. Freezing bank accounts of Congress and the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were the latest testimonies of the fact that how the present regime is anti-democratic in its behaviour and action, he pointed out.
" I strongly condemn the arrest of Kejriwal as it is a highly draconian, atrocious, and undemocratic step when Lok Sabha elections have been set in motion", the CPI leader said adding that Kejriwal had been pushed behind bars to stop him from campaigning in Lok Sabha elections. It was also an attempt to intimidate opposition parties but Narendra Modi's government would not succeed in its motive, he cautioned.
