Nitish, Rabri declared elected for Bihar Legislative Council

Patna, Mar 14 (UNI) All 11 candidates including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former CM Rabri Devi were elected unopposed as members of the Bihar Legislative Council on Thursday.
Assembly secretary and returning officer Raj Kumar handed over the certificates to all 11 candidates in the afternoon after expiry of the time for withdrawal of the nomination paper.
Nitish Kumar, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jh , former JDU national president and MP Lalan Singh and several others, personally visited the Assembly secretary and received his certificate. Rabri Devi, however had sent MLC Bhola Jha, her close confidant, to collect the certificate.
Besides Nitish Kumar and Rabri Devi, those elected unopposed include Mangal Pandey, Anamika Singh Patel and Lal Mohan Gupta of BJP, Khalid Anwar from JDU, Bihar Minister Santosh Manjhi of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, Faisal Ali and Urmila Thakur of RJD and Shashi Yadav of CPIML.

Aizawl, Apr 28(UNI) At least 650 homes including 51 houses in Tualpui and Vanka villages of northeastern Khawza distrrict have been ravaged by rain accompanied by massive hailstorm and gusty wind in Mizora on Saturday morning
Sources said 24 houses houses have been destroyed in Tualpui and 27 houses damaged in Vankal village when a heavy hailstorm hit the two villages at around 2 AM on Saturday morning.
