Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in this city on Tuesday evening to unveil some Kolkata Metro Railway projects and later is scheduled to address an open rally at Barasat in North 24 Parganas on Wednesday, official sources said.
After landing at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (Dum Dum), the PM was taken to Raj Bhawan by car and will stay there tonight.
Sources said the PM will hold an official function in the city to inaugurate several Central government projects, including that of Kolkata Metro Railway. Kolkata Metro sources said the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade section and the Kavi Subhas-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay and the Taratala-Majerhat stations.
