Former Cal HC judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay says he would join BJP

Kolkata, Mar 5 (UNI) Former Calcutta High Court Judge Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay on Tuesday announced his intention to join the BJP this week after a premature resignation from the judicial service.
Addressing a media conference at his house the former judge, who delivered many landmark judgments, especially on the alleged teachers recruitment scam in West Bengal said he would join the BJP since the BJP was the only party fighting the alleged corruption against the TMC government.
He said he may join the BJP on March 7.
He said he had dispatched his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu with copies to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court TS Sivagnanam.
