Assam CM lays foundation for projects worth Rs 624 crore

Barpeta, Feb 29 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday inaugurated, laid the foundations, and performed the bhumi pujan of a number of projects worth Rs. 624 crore for Barpeta district at a function held at Barpta.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarma said that over the next 15 days, as a part of the Bikash Yatra, projects worth Rs. 50,000 crore would either be given shape or would be started across the state, taking the development of Assam to a greater height.
He said that the projects that witnessed either foundation, bhumi pujan, or dedication involving Rs. 624 crore in Barpeta would transform the district into a major industrial hub.
He said that the projects would greatly enhance the infrastructure of Barpeta district, including its roads, health, drinking water, and sports.
Minister of Education Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Ranjeet Kumar Dass, and MLAs Phanidhar Talukdar and Monoranjan Talukdar attended the meeting.
