CPI-M made Tripura hub of corruption: PM

Agartala, April 17 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday slammed Congress and CPI-M for making Tripura a hub of corruption before Bharatiya Janata Party came to power.
Addressing a massive rally for BJP candidates Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma, Modi appealed voters to ensure victory of saffron party candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for development of Tripura.
“Every vote given to BJP-NDA will strengthen Modi ki Guarantee!” he said adding when CPI-M and Congress were the major parties in Tripura, corruption was prospering but after 2018 it was stopped.
“The Leftists and Congress might look like rivals. But behind the curtains, they share the same ideology. We are working relentlessly for the development of the Northeast. I am the only Prime Minister to have visited the Northeast over 50 times in a decade,” said Modi.
Now, Centre and state governments are going to work on the HIRA+ model after successful persuasion of HIRA (Highway, I-way, Roadway and Airway) in five years rule of BJP in Tripura, he underlined.
"Their policy was ‘Loot East’ but in 10 years, I put an end to the Loot East Policy of the Congress and the Leftists. Now, we are working on the ‘Act East’ policy," PM stated.
PM Modi announced that the BJP has decided to construct 3 crore new houses in India and the people of Tripura are going to benefit a great deal from the initiative.
“We are focusing to enhance connectivity in the Northeast. Our government has provided free gas connections to over 3 lakh women. We have also initiated the Eklavya Model Schools for educating the children from tribal communities,” he added.
