Patna, Aug 29 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader and party MLA Ramdeo Rai, who had defeated the great socialist leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur in 1984 Lok Sabha elections, died here today. He was 77.
Survived by his wife, two sons and five daughters, Mr Rai breathed his last during treatment in a private Nursing home in Patna where he was admitted yesterday when his condition deteriorated.
He was suffering from prostrate cancer for two years but continued to be busy in public life and attended Assembly sessions, besides participating in a number of social activities during this period.
