Imphal, Jul 10 (UNI) A division bench of Manipur High Court of Justice Lanusungkum Jamir and Justice Ahanthem Bimol Singh today suspended the order of the Speakers' Tribunal which disqualified T Robindro as Member of the Legislative Assembly.
The matter was listed on July 20 for further hearing. Prior to the Rajya Sabha elections, Speaker Y Khemchand disqualified T Robindro and three other Congress MLAs, Y Surchandra, Ksh Biren and S Bira under the anti-defection law on June 18.
The bench today heard learned senior counsels of both parties. The respondents including the Speaker were allowed to file Counter Affidavit.
