Kohima, Jul 12 (UNI) The personnel of the Assam Rifles have recovered a hoard of assorted ammunition near Chedema village under Kohima district on Friday last.

According to an official release issued by the PRO Defence in Kohima has informed that the ammunition, including anti-tank grenades and mortar shells, were recovered when the Assam Rifles troops launched an operation in the area “based on specific intelligence" input. While stating that it was part of the "ongoing crackdown” operation, the release said that the Assam Rifles troops recovered three 60 mm mortar bombs, two M-60 anti-tank rifle grenades, 390 rounds of 7.62 mm (sniper), 109 rounds of 7.62 mm (AK-47), 51 rounds of 7.62 mm (pistol), three kg PEK explosive and one AK-47 magazine.
