Odisha govt approves seven key industrial projects worth Rs 80,125 cr

Bhubaneswar, Mar 8 (UNI) The Odisha government has approved seven key industrial projects worth Rs 80,125 crore at the 35th High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting.
The HLCA meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday night, approved these important projects in various sectors such as steel, green energy, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.
Strategically located in Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, and Bhadrak districts of the state, these projects aim to enhance Odisha’s manufacturing capabilities and boost the state’s economic development.
Official sources stated that Granules Life Sciences Pvt Ltd, a leading producer of paracetamol in India, will set up a pharmaceutical unit at Tata SEZ, Gopalpur, Ganjam, with an investment of Rs. 1100 crore. This unit will produce 4 billion units of paracetamol, metformin, ibuprofen, and other pharmaceutical products.
Granules CZRO Private Limited will also establish a green specialty chemical plant for its pharmaceutical products like Para Amino Phenol, DCDA & DMA HCL. This plant, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, will be set up at Tata SEZ, Gopalpur in Ganjam district.
Similarly, ACME Greentech Urja Private Limited will set up an integrated manufacturing unit for Silica of Solar PV. This Rs 36,000 crore green energy facility in Khurda will produce 10 GW of solar panels.
Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Pvt Limited, India’s largest solar panel manufacturer, will set up a 1.20 MMTPA Green Ammonia Plant in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 12,480 crore.
EG Solwin Hybrid Private Limited will establish a 0.30 MT Green Ammonia production unit at Tata SEZ, Gopalpur, Ganjam, with an investment of Rs 6,330 crore.
Action Ispat will expand its steel production capacity from 0.37 MTPA to 7.5 MTPA, along with downstream and upstream facilities at Jharsuguda, with an investment of Rs 21,000 crore.
OFB Tech Private Limited will set up a manufacturing unit for drums, woven bags, and a chemical complex at Dhamra in Bhadrak, with a total investment of Rs 1,615 crore.
Official sources mentioned that with these projects moving forward, Odisha’s economy is expected to experience significant growth, solidifying its position as the top choice for investments and industrial development in Eastern India.
All seven projects are projected to create job opportunities for 24,552 people in the state.
