Meghalaya recorded more recoveries than COVID-19 infection

Shillong, Sep 30 (UNI) More recoveries than new cases of COVID-19 infection were recorded in Meghalaya on Thursday with 199 patients having recovered from the viral disease, thus surging the number of recovered cases to 78267, even as 129 new positive cases added up to 1619 active cases, health officials said. The deaths of four COVID-19 infected persons, three of whom were not vaccinated against the virus, increased the fatality figure to 1404 in the State, which has so far registered 81,290 confirmed cases. East Khasi Hills, including state capital Shillong, which recorded 66 new COVID-19 cases and two related deaths on Thursday, continues to remain the most pandemic hit district with 783 active cases and 966 fatalities till date. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the ten other districts in the State was recorded at less than 400 each as on Thursday.
