Two die, 106 new Covid cases in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 21 (UNI) Two women died due to Covid and 106 new cases were detected today while 77 were declared free from the virus. In the past twenty-four hours, 87 persons, 59 male and 28 female, from general population and 29 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVIDI9 positive cases.
The positive cases are from VRDL. JNIMS — 60; Shija Hospital - 1; Noney — 1: Bishnupur — 3; Churachandpur — 1: JNIMS RAT — 1; Kangpokpi — 6; Imphal East — 5; Little Clinic — 1: Tamenglong — 5: Thoubal — 19; Kakching — 5; Advance Hospital — 2; Christian Hospital — 1; Babina Diagnostics — 4; Raj Medicity - 1. They were from Imphal West-2; Imphal East — 39; Churachandpur - 2; Senapati - 1; Noney — 1; Tamenglong - 5; Kakching 5; Thoubal - 22; Bishnupur - 3; Kangpokpi — 7. Four persons (Churachandpur -{. Bishnupur -2, Senapati - 1) out of the general population were returnees from other states while the rest 83 were without any significant travel history. They were shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in place.
In the last 24 hours, two females aged 75 yrs and 53 yrs both from Imphal West expired at RIMS and JNIMS respectively due to Covid 19 and other co-morbid conditions. The cumulative number of deaths is 59.
