Over 2,000 new COVID cases in Assam for second day, tally at 48161

Guwahati, Aug (UNI) More than 2,000 new cases of COVID 19 positive were detected in Assam for the second day as the total number of COVID tests in the state crossed 10 lakh on Tuesday,
Altogether 2886 new cases were detected during the day, taking the overall tally to 48,161, state Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed.
Among the new cases, 550 were from Kamrup (metro) district, while Kamrup (rural), Nagaon and Dibrugarh also reported over 200 each.
