AP: 108 ambulance staffs conduct successful deliveries inside ambulances

Itanagar, Mar 19 (UNI) In two separate incidences, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) of 108 Emergency Ambulance services operating in Arunachal Pradesh, did successful deliveries inside the ambulances in Borduria of Tirap and Bordumsa of Changlang district, giving a new lease of life to both patients and their babies, sources in Arunachal Pradesh NHM said on Tuesday.
In the first incident on March 18, the Borduria location 108 ambulance (AR-01N 8380) had to attend a referred case of Anemic pregnancy from Primary Health Centre (PHC), Borduria to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh.
While on the way to the hospital, the patient started having severe labor pain and the EMT, Liamhun Tonrang started to midwife and successfully delivered a baby boy inside the ambulance. Later, they were admitted to AMC Dibrugarh for further treatment. Both the mother and the baby were doing fine and healthy.
