59.70 lakh people affected with floods in Bihar

Patna, Aug 4 (UNI) Altogether 59.70 lakh people have been affected by floods wreaking havoc in 14 districts of Bihar after heavy rains in catchment areas in Nepal.
According to Central Water Commission, Budhi Gandak was flowing above the danger mark at five places while Bagmati at four and Ghaghra, Adhwara group of rivers, Kamla Balan Kosi and Mahananda were flowing above danger mark at two places each when the level was last recorded. Similarly Gandak and Parman river were flowing above danger mark at one place each.
Budhi Gandak was flowing 24 cm above red mark at Lalbegiya Ghat in West Champaran, 107 cm at Sikandarpur in Muzaffarpur, 238 cm in Samastipur, 387 cm in Rosera and 124 cm in Khagaria. Similarly, Ghagra river 57 cm above red mark at Nadaul and 56 cm at Gangpur Siswan.
