Meghalaya: VPP dares RDA to withdraw its LS nominee

Shillong, Mar 25 (UNI) Meghalaya’s opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Monday asked the Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) formed by the United Democratic Party (UDP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), to withdraw its nominee from the Lok Sabha polls if they were “true” regional parties.
Addressing an election campaign at Mawkriah village under the Mawphlang Assembly constituency limits, VPP chief Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, said the party’s politics was not based on any vendetta, making false promises or pursuing one’s benefit.
“We selected our candidate after due scrutiny from all angles. We believe that the people will not regret if they support our candidate. We are hopeful of a comfortable victory looking at the way people have responded to us,” Basaiawmoit said.
