Second phase election to be held on April 26 in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 25 (UNI) The second phase of General Elections to the 18th Lok Sabha will be held on Friday in Manipur. Polling will start at 7 AM and will continue till 4 PM.
Thirteen Assembly Segments of 2-Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency spread across eight districts -- Ukhrul, Kamjong, Tamenglong, Noney, Senapati, Jiribam, Pherzawl and Tengnoupal, will go for polls on Friday. A total of 484949 voters including 239140 male, 245807 female, and 2 transgender voters will exercise their franchise in Phase 2. There are a total of 848 polling stations out of which 202 polling stations will be completely managed by all women polling personnel.
CEO Manipur Pradeep Kumar Jha said a polling station will be exclusively managed by PwD polling personnel. Officials have reached most of the polling stations and women polling parties of Tengnoupal Polling team of Jiribam travelled by boat through Barak river.

Bhubaneswar, May 6 (UNI) As many as 113 of the total 243 candidates, about 47 percent, who are in the fray in 28 Assembly seats in Odisha, going to polls on May 13 next, have criminal records against themselves, according to Odisha Election watch report prepared by Association for Democratic Reforms(ADR).
