PM Modi promises for accelerated development of Bihar

PM Modi promises for accelerated development of Bihar

Jamui, April 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched campaign of NDA for the Lok Sabha election in Bihar and promised for accelerated development of the state and country as whole.
Modi, while launching campaign of NDA at a massive public meeting here in support of Arun Bharti, candidate of LJP- Ram Vilas, an ally of BJP, said that his government had worked hard in last ten years to ensure development of the country. The scenario consequently changed in all sectors including economic condition, border security of the nation and influence of India at world forum.
On the other hand, during Congress regime at the Centre, cross border terrorism was prevalent but such incidents had now become things of the past, he added.
"India now strikes at terror outfits based in neighbouring country which had greatly helped in combating the menace of terrorism", the Prime Minister said adding that the neighbouring country, earlier responsible for cross border terrorism, was now struggling for edibles like flour, a reference to Pakistan. Similarly, menace of naxalism, a serious threat on internal security, had almost lost its steam, he further said and added that Jamui was also infamous for naxalism earlier.
Modi said that India had now become 5th largest economy of the world and its influence had also increased considerably at world forum. Now whole world was looking towards India for solutions to a number of issues but earlier no such situation was visible, he pointed out.
Instead, India used to lodge complaint with other countries for handling cross border terrorism but the country was now self sufficient to curb the menace, even by targeting terror outfits based in the neighbouring country, the PM stated.
Modi said that India had organised G-20 summit last year which was a landmark achivement of the country. Development in last 10 years of the country was just a trailer and many more would be done in years ahead, he promised.
The Prime Minister said that free ration to poor families under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna would continue till next five years. Free vaccination of the people was conducted during Corona pandemic to insulate them from getting infected with Covid-19, he added.
Modi, while referring to Bihar, said that there was complete lawlessness and rampant corruption during RJD regime earlier. Land for job scam had occurred in Railways and lands of the poor families were taken for providing jobs to youths, he pointed out while making reference to land for job scam during the tenure of RJD Chief Lalu Prasad as Railway Minister. No such complaint was ever received when Nitish Kumar was Railway Minister, he stressed.
His government had launched schemes for tapping solar power and providing LED but RJD was trying to push back Bihar again in lantern age, the PM said.
Modi said that 37 lakhs poor families were given pucca houses while 84 lakhs Ayushman Cards had been made for free medical treatment of poor. More than 9 crores poor were being given free ration under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna in Bihar which would also continue for next five years, he added.
The Prime Minister said that veteran socialist leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur was felicitated with Bharat Ratna by his government. Similarly, Ram Nath Kovind who was Governor of Bihar, became President with support of NDA, he recalled.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while addressing the public meeting said that he had joined hands with Grand Alliance for few months and it was trying to take credit of works done by him. He would now remain with BJP and not go anywhere, Kumar assured.
The CM said that there was complete lawlessness in Bihar during RJD regime from 1990 to 2005. Law and order had improved remarkably since his government was voted to power in the state, he pointed out.
