LS polls: BJP announces 17 candidates for Bihar

Patna, Mar 24 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced 17 candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Bihar.
According to the list released today, BJP has replaced its four sitting MPs including Union Minister Ashwani Choubey, MP from Buxar. The party has fielded Mithilesh Tiwari from this seat. Muzaffarpur MP Ajay Nishad has been replaced by Rajbhushan Nishad whereas Shivesh Ram has replaced Chhedi Paswan from Sasaram. Rama Devi, BJP MP from Sheohar has not been given the chance to contest as her seat is now in the JDU fold as per the seats adjustment in the NDA camp.
BJP is contesting on 17 seats including Nawada Lok Sabha seat which was earlier with the LJP (Ramvilas) of Chirag Paswan.

Patna, Apr 26 (UNI) Scorching heat appears to have affected polling percentage during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in five seats in Bihar, as only 58.58 percent of the electorate exercised their franchise compared to 62.92 percent in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which is 4.34 percent less this year.
