LS polls: BJP fields ex-IPS Debashish Dhar from Birbhum

Kolkata, Mar 31 (UNI) Former cop Debashish Dhar, who was a terror to the terrorist outfits of Northeast during his brief stint at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and nabbed nearly half a dozen underground leaders, has been named by the BJP's central committee to contest for the saffron brigade in coming to West Bengal's Birbhum Lok Sabha seat.
The young IPS officer, who quit the service on personal grounds barely a few weeks ago after being posted on compulsory waiting since the TMC government retained the power for the 3rd consecutive term in the May 2021 assembly poll, was named by the BJP and faces the new challenge.
politically, for which he was allegedly a victim, party sources said on Sunday.
