Poll official suffers stroke in Arunachal

Itanagar, Apr 19 (UNI) In an unfortunate incident, an election official suffered a massive stroke moments before the start of voting for the 18th Lok Sabha and the State Legislative Assembly in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday.
The incident happened at the Daggong polling station under Tuting-Yingkiong Assembly Constituency in Arunachal's Upper Siang district.
"Presiding officer Sanjay Paul, in his fifties, suffered a sudden stroke this morning while briefing his subordinates prior to the start of the voting process. The critically ill Paul was immediately rushed to Pasighat-Bakin Pertin General Hospital in neighbouring East Siang district," an official in the office of Upper Siang District Election Officer (DEO), Yalik Jerang has said.
