Central government sanctions an Integrated Aqua Park for Tripura

Agartala, Mar 16 (UNI) The Union government has sanctioned Rs 132.50 crore for the development of the fisheries sector in Tripura, said Minister of Fisheries Sudhangshu Das here on Saturday.
He said the central government has sanctioned Rs 42.39 crore in the first phase under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) for Integrated Aqua Park (IAP) to be set up in Satero Miyan Haur in Kailashahar of Unakoti. The state government has proposed a project worth Rs 99.99 crore for the establishment of IAP over 115.83 acres of the waterbody.
Das said, IAP included Indian major carp hatcheries, brood stock ponds, nursery ponds, rearing ponds, grow-out earthen ponds, bio-floc complexes, recirculatory aquaculture systems (RAS), feed plants, fish processing units, aquarium and angling complexes, restaurant, and accommodations for farmers and students.
