PM stresses need for modernisation of northern districts Bengal for Viksit Bharat Viksit West Bengal

Siliguri, Mar 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday stressed the need for rapid modernization and infrastructure development of northern districts of West Bengal for a Viksit Bharat and Viksit West Bengal.
Modi while laying foundation stones and inaugurating projects worth over Rs 4500 Crore said the region is the gateway to the Northeastern states and provides trade channels to the neighboring nations.
He said Siliguri, one of the largest business towns, is the gateway to Assam and beyond in the country and it has border trade with Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal and said the Viksit Bharat will be richer with the developments of the region.
