Two female journalists detained in Assam in Tripura case

Agartala, Nov 14 (UNI) Assam police detained two young ladies – one hails from Jharsuguda of Odisha and another from Rohini of North West Delhi who claimed to be journalists on Sunday afternoon in Karimganj district of South Assam on their way to Guwahati in a hired vehicle.
Tripura police early morning had served them notice under Section 153-A for promoting enmity on grounds of religion and under Section 120 (B) of IPC being a part of hatching a criminal conspiracy in a hotel at Dharmanagar of North Tripura and asked them to deposit their statement in Agartala in connection with a case lodged against them at Kakraban police station in Gomati district.
Police said Sammriddhi K Sakunia (21) from Odisha and Swarna Jha (24) from Delhi had broken their journey at Kumarghat. Instead of proceeding to Agartala, they diverted their route towards Guwahati and crossed the inter-state border at Churaibari to avoid security surveillance.
