Odisha STF busts impersonation & extortion racket, arrests 2 cons

Bhubaneswar, Mar 17 (UNI) The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha police crime branch has arrested two brothers who impersonated themselves as senior officers of the Enforcement Directorate and demanded huge money from more than 300 government officials, sources said on Sunday.
STF identified the accused as Tarinisen Mohapatra (30) and his brother Brahmashankar Mohapatra (27), of Dolamandapsahi under the Dhenkanal Town Police station of Dhenkanal District, who were operating the racket in Odisha and Jharkhand.
They were arrested on March 16 based on the complaint of Debadatta Mohanta, Sub-Collector cum SDM, Chhatrapur. Mahanta in his complaint alleged that a person impersonating the Additional Director of the Enforcement Directorate. was demanding money from him.
