Accused commits suicide in Meghalaya police lock-up

Shillong, Apr 26 (UNI) An under-trial, accused under the Arms Act, allegedly committed suicide inside the lock-up at the Khanapara Police Station in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district on Friday, police said.
Police suspect that the accused, identified as Rudra Rabha tore his blanket to use its shred for hanging himself inside the police lock-up. He was arrested in connection to Khanapara PS Case No.12(03)2024 U/S 379/401/511/307/34 IPC R/W sec 27(2) of Arms Act.
