Massive drug bust and explosives intercepted by Assam Rifles in Mizoram

Aizawl, Mar 14 (UNI) In a series of coordinated operations, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Special Narcotics Police Station, CID (Crime), Aizawl, and Mizoram, have dealt a significant blow to illegal activities in Mizoram during the last three days.
On March 12, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics Police Station recovered twenty cases of heroin, totaling 236 grams, valued at an estimated Rs 1,65,20,000 at Zemabawk North, Aizawl. Two persons hailing from Churachandpur, Manipur, were apprehended in connection with the illicit drug trade.
Prior to this, on March 11, Assam Rifles intercepted a significant cache of "war-like stores" worth Rs 26 lakhs en route from Siaha to the Indo-Myanmar border. This haul included 175 sets of walkie-talkies. Two individuals were apprehended in the Siahtla area of Siaha district in connection with this illegal transportation. The recovered items and suspects have been handed over to the Siaha Police Station for further investigation.
