Meghalaya clamps Section 144 along India-Bangla border in West Garo Hills

Tura (Meghalaya), Sep 17 (UNI) Apprehending movement of terrorist or fundamentalist trying to sneak into the Indian Territory, district authorities in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills has clamped Section 144 of Cr. PC in areas along the India-Bangladesh border.
In a statement issued here, the District Magistrate of West Garo Hills, Ram Singh had issued an Order Under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting the movements of Person or Persons within 100 metres from the India-Bangladesh border from 6 pm to 6 am in view of the apprehension concerning the movements of International gang and criminals and the presence of smugglers and other anti-National elements gather in large number near International Border during night hours to smuggle cattle, contraband goods, etc from India to Bangladesh.
The order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders, the official statement said.
