Cong members urge CM to seek PM’s intervention to resolve Manipur crisis

Imphal, Mar 5 (UNI) Congress members led by former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh called on Chief Minister N Biren Singh to seek the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the Manipur crisis which has left over 219 people dead and over 60000 people displaced.
Ibobi raised a motion in the House on Tuesday to restore peace and normalcy and informed that representatives of Congress and other political parties had camped in New Delhi for over two weeks to meet the Prime Minister however no appointment was given. Ibobi said the Prime Minister and the centre seem to be least bothered about the death of so many people in the state.
Ibobi further said places of important places like the historic Thangjing hill range which is associated with the history of Manipur were changed to Thangting by some Kuki. When the matter came to light it was rectified. He further said the Chief Minister always blamed previous governments for every crisis which are taking place which is not acceptable.
