Kolkata, Jul 28 (UNI) Bengal will observe complete lockdown on on August 02, 05, 08, 09,
16, 17, 22, 23, 29 and 30 to break the chain of Covid-19 pandemic, said Chief Minister
Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday.
Addressing media at Nabanna, the State Secretariat, Ms Banerjee informed that there
would be no lockdown on August 01 (Saturday) owing to Eid.
There will also be no complete lockdown on August 03 (Monday) owing to "Rakhi" festival,
she added.
Since August 15 is Independence Day, there will be no complete lockdown on that day
too (Saturday).
Barring these three, the state will observe complete lockdown on every Saturday and
Sunday in the month of August.
However, lockdown as usual will remain in force till August 31, which has been extended
from July 31.
She also informed that schools and colleges will remain closed till August 31.
