India-EFTA trade agreement will boost commerce: Garodia

Kolkata, Mar 10 (UNI) India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) will boost bilateral trade between India and the four European member nations of Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland, according to EEPC India Chairman Arun Kumar Garodia.
"It will open up new avenues for engineering exporters and help penetrate new markets," Garodia said in a statement.
"We congratulate the government for signing the agreement in record time. The trade deal would help India get an FDI of about US$100 billion over the next 15 years, which will spur investment in the country and create more jobs. It will provide new opportunities to businesses for collaboration and technological tie-ups," he said.
The FTAs signed with Australia and UAE have significantly bolstered bilateral trade. There are more FTAs in pipelines that hold significant potential for trade and commerce between India and its partner countries, Garodia added.
