Samsung launches latest smartphones to bolster leadership in mid-premium segment

Bengaluru, Mar 21 (UNI) India's largest consumer electronics brand Samsung on Thursday made a significant announcement in the Indian market with the launch of its latest smartphones, the Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G.
These devices introduce several flagship-like features aimed at offering consumers a premium experience at an accessible price point.
Some of the features include Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection, camera features enhanced by AI, and a tamper-resistant security solution, the Samsung Knox Vault, Samsung India Senior Director (MX Business) Ghufram Alam told reporters here.
"One of the notable aspects of these smartphones is their design and durability. The Galaxy A55 5G boasts a metal frame, while the Galaxy A35 5G features a premium glass back. Both phones come in three trendy colors and are rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, providing durability suitable for everyday use," he said.
In terms of display, the devices offer a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with minimised bezels and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth performance, Ghufran said. Additionally, they are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back, ensuring durability against scratches and accidental drops, he said.
Camera capabilities are another highlight, with AI-enhanced features such as Photo Remaster, Image Clipper, and Object Eraser, Ghufran said. The Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G sport a 50 MP triple camera setup with Nightography enhanced by AI Image Signal Processing, promising impressive low-light photography, he said.
Security is prioritized with the introduction of Samsung Knox Vault Security, offering hardware-based protection against both hardware and software attacks, and this feature enhances data security, including lock screen credentials, ensuring peace of mind for users, Ghufran said.
Performance-wise, the devices are powered by the Exynos 1480 processor for the Galaxy A55 5G and the Exynos 1380 processor for the Galaxy A35 5G. These processors, built on advanced process technology, offer improved NPU, GPU, and CPU performance, along with a larger cooling chamber for smooth multitasking and gaming experiences, he stated.
Furthermore, the Galaxy A55 5G stands out with its 12GB RAM, setting a new benchmark in its price segment, Ghufran said.
"Samsung also enhances user experiences with features like Samsung Wallet for convenient and secure mobile payments and Voice Focus for clear call quality in noisy environments," he said.
Moreover, Samsung also promises long-term support for these devices, offering up to four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, ensuring they remain equipped with the latest features and security enhancements over their lifecycle, Ghufran said. UNI BDN AKS
