HDFC Bank to add over 100 branches in Kerala, create 1000 jobs

Kochi, Nov 17 (UNI) HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, has announced that it will add over 100 branches in Kerala in the next 12 months and leading to the creation of 1000 jobs.
A majority of the new branches will be in the semi urban and rural locations, Sanjeev Kumar, Branch Banking Head, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, said in release on Thursday.
"HDFC Bank is committed to serve the people of Kerala and it is our endeavor to provide world class banking services to every person in the state. Our expansion plans is a part of this effort. We already have a strong presence in all major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and our aim is to offer more of these services to the under-banked and unbanked,” Sanjeev said.
Recently, Bank Chairman TM Zakkir Hussain, opened its 250th branch at Perumbavoor Town, Ernakulam District, Kerala.
The Bank is investing heavily to penetrate further into semi-urban and rural regions to increase coverage, further financial inclusion and crate employment. HDFC Bank’s journey in Kerala began in 1997 with the opening of its first branch at Ravipuram, Ernakulam. The bank’s 250 branches are now spread over 14 districts of Kerala. This is complemented by a network of 390 ATMs and 42 Cash Deposit Machines.
