Torrent Gas also cuts CNG price by Rs 2.50 per kg

New Delhi, March 8 (UNI) Days after Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) and Mahanagar Gas cut retail prices of compressed natural gas (CNG), Torrent Gas on Friday also announced a reduction of Rs 2.50 per kilogram on the natural gas in its areas of operation across the country.
"This makes CNG cheaper by up to 45% vis-a-vis petrol and upto 37% vis-a-vis diesel. This reduction in prices of CNG has been done with an objective of promoting the usage of clean fuel and enhancing the ecosystem of natural gas," Torrent Gas said in a media release.
This gas distributor said that reduction in CNG price besides leading to greater savings for CNG vehicle owners would also give an impetus to sale of new CNG vehicles across various segments, including passenger and commercial.
Speaking about the reduction in gas prices, Manoj Jain, Managing Director, Torrent Gas said, “This reduction in CNG prices is expected to increase the offtake of new CNG vehicles and increase the consumption of natural gas in transport segment.
Torrent Gas has invested deeply into building CGD network infrastructure in its geographical areas and is continuously working towards creating awareness about CNG and PNG and help consumers adopt economical and environment friendly natural gas as fuel.”
IGL had on March 6 announced to cut CNG prices for retail consumers by Rs 2.50 per kg.
"The revised selling price of CNG in Delhi shall be Rs 74.09 per kg, while it shall be Rs 78.70 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad GA from 6 am tomorrow (March 7) morning," IGL had said in its announcement.
Mahanagar Gas has also cut the CNG price by Rs 2.50 per kilogram in its areas of operation.
